Gives Me Hope

Three years ago, a friend of my brothers, Jeff, was completing in a race.

He was in first place for the first half but then appeared in dead last after a hill.

Later he told me that he had turned back to help a fellow runner who had gotten badly hurt as he ran.

He gave up first place to help someone he didn't even know.
